About NEERMAN

NEERMAN is a niche research firm that conducts rigorous impact evaluations in the water-sanitation, public health and energy sectors. We also provide allied services such as M&E system development, development program design, research capacity building, and policy research. Our main clients are leading international organizations such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and UNICEF, but we are seeking to expand our services to Indian governmental agencies and local organizations. NEERMAN also conducts collaborative research with our advisors at the University of California, Berkeley and the Duke University. Our head office is in Mumbai and the branch office is in New Delhi. This position is advertised for both locations but Delhi-based candidates must first complete 3-months training-cum- orientation in Mumbai.

How is working with NEERMAN different?

We are predominantly a research organization and not a consulting or survey firm. We have a flat organizational structure where research associates are mentored by senior researchers. If corporate or large institutional settings and rising through the hierarchy motivate you, then NEERMAN may not be the right fit for you. We offer competitive – and sometimes even better – salaries, but your position at NEERMAN and growth (in salary and titles) will be based on the growth in your skills in research design, data analysis, writing, and initiating-conducting-publishing research. That is, it is linked to your performance and not that of your boss or division. While we expect that you invest in your own growth as a researcher, NEERMAN will also invest in your training and education and allocate a part of your work time for professional skills development and journal publications. We believe in work-life balance and have a 5-day work week.
